Chapter 9

Chapter 9

"-therFlight. FeatherFlight, wake up" WingClaw whispered as he prodded me awake.
"What." I answered annoyed. "It's too early. The sun isn't even up yet. Go back to sleep." I said as I started to doze off.
"No. FeatherFlight. We have to leave. We have a long journey ahead of us and with your flying it will be probably be twice as long."
"But what about your mom?" I questioned.
"I left a note. Let's get going." he rushed.
"Whatever." I sleepily lifted up my wings and fluttered out of the tree. The air was quite chilly as we flew but we eventually got used to it.
"Ok. Fly north till we find the owl Rasha." I repeated WhisperHeart's directions.
  "Yep. So how's it goin?"
"I'm getting better at flying, thanks to you, and that's pretty much it." I said nicely.
"Your welcome." He said as he looked straight into my eyes.
Wow. I never really realized how big and beautiful his eyes were... Wait, wait, wait. What am I saying?  I wonder what he is thinking right now...

"The sky is beautiful from up here!" he called over to me. "Just like you" he whispered.
"What?! I didn't hear you. Can you say that again?" I asked. I wasnt sure of my ears right now.
"Oh, nothing! I didn't say anything." he called back. "Hey look let's go ask that big bird over there if they know where Rasha lives." He said.
"Ok sounds good." We dove down towards owl as the sun started to go down. We landed on it's branch.
"Hi! Do you know where the owl Rasha lives? We are on a journey so SpiritPecker's nest!" I said excitedly.
"I'm Rasha. What do you need you young crows?" He replied in a deep voice.
"Well, we need to find the cure for yeep. This old crow named BranchWorm has it and she tests creepy spells on them that usually ends up killing them. So we want to help her." Do you know where his nest is?" WingClaw explained.
"Ah, yes SpiritPecker. Well, fly east from here, and look over there, see that big tree way over there?" Rasha swiftly spoke.
"Oh yes, I see." WingClaw said intelligently.
"That is where SpiritPecker's nest is." Rasha replied. "But stay here for the night. Your friend looks exhausted." He said pointing to me. "Follow me, I will lead you to your rooms."
"This is kind of weird..." I whispered to WingClaw. "Ok, well, see you tomorrow morning." I said.
  "Goodnight FeatherFlight" WingClaw said thoughtfully.
